Patriots Still Preaching Patience With Romeo Doubs Early On
Four games into the season, the Patriots say receiver Romeo Doubs just needs time to find his footing, per ESPN.

Coach Murph here, and I'll tell you the same thing I used to tell a kid who couldn't find the net in October: a slow start doesn't mean much this early. It means something in December.
Per ESPN, the Patriots are preaching patience with Doubs, who signed a four-year deal back in March and is still searching for his footing in the offense heading into Week 4.
That's the report. Not a lot of meat on it, but here's my read anyway.

You don't hand a guy four years of term and then bail on him four games in. That's not coaching, that's panic. Any receiver walking into a new offense needs reps to learn the footwork, the timing, the little things that don't show up on a highlight reel.
So the club sitting tight on this one isn't a surprise, and it shouldn't be. The bigger question is how long that patience lasts if the production doesn't show up soon. You can preach all you want. Eventually the kid's got to get open and catch the ball.
Grade on this one: incomplete. Check back in a few weeks.
