Per ESPN, Tatum said he's thankful for his time with Brown and for the success the two shared together, but that he now feels comfortable stepping into the lead role for the new-look Celtics this season. He touched on the same subject in a separate video interview released Monday night.
How Tatum handles being the unquestioned focal point — on the court and in the locker room — is going to be one of the defining questions of Boston's season. For now, at least, he sounds ready for it.
